Original preliminary pencil sketch on paper created by Mary GrandPré in 2006 as she prepared the title artwork for Chapter 8 of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, titled The Wedding.

Set during the wedding of Bill Weasley and Fleur Delacour at the Burrow, one of the final moments of peace in the series, this artwork captures the dramatic turning point when Kingsley Shacklebolt’s Patronus arrives to warn the guests. The message reveals that Minister Rufus Scrimgeour has been killed and Voldemort has seized control of the Ministry of Magic. As Death Eaters close in to capture Harry, Ron, and Hermione, the trio narrowly escapes by Disapparating. Mary GrandPré’s sketch vividly conveys the tension and urgency of this pivotal scene.
